Get market-ready this winter

Are you hoping to secure your dream sale this winter but aren't sure where to begin?

We've put together a pre-launch guide to help you achieve a powerful property launch this season.

1.Do some investigating

When planning the sale of your home, it's important to know how your local housing market is performing. A great place to start your research is Rightmove.co.uk. Compare the recent sales of your neighbours to get a good idea of what your property is worth and what to expect when you get listed.

2.Find a reliable estate agent
Choosing an estate agent can be a tricky decision. You need to find someone reliable and determined to help you achieve your sale. We recommend arranging at least 5 valuations to help you get a feel for each individual and their company. Once you've narrowed down your choices, search social media and Google for reviews. Make sure you're happy with the valuation you've received—does it line up with your market research?

 3.Kerb appeal
The outside of your property is an advert for what's inside, so your property needs to look its very best. Don't worry; it's easier than you think!

 Freshen up your front door

Give the entrance of your home a good clean or a fresh lick of paint.

Hide your bins

Smelly wheelie bins aren't appealing to anybody. Moving your bins out of sight and clean them regularly to avoid any unpleasant odours.

Tidy up the front garden

Make your front garden inviting by trimming back any bushes or adding some pretty potted plants.

4.Declutter and clean

Having a clutter-free and clean space isn't just more appealing to potential buyers but also gives them the space to envision themselves and their furniture in your home. You don't want your property to be overwhelming to your viewers; instead, create a homely atmosphere that can be well-received by all.

5.Photo prep

Amazing, your house is lovely and clean! You're almost ready for your property photographs. Whether your agent takes the photos themselves or relies on a professional photographer, we always suggest depersonalizing your space. You want prospective buyers to fall in love and see themselves living within your home.

6.Agent feedback

Agent feedback is extremely important. Getting advice from those who are involved in the market every day can make a huge difference to the quality of your listing. Feedback from potential buyers will give you valuable insight into what you can do to ensure your property looks its best.
