Bring Spring into your bedroom

The arrival of April always fills us with Springtime cheer, and what better way to see in the season than to declutter and organise your bedroom.

Whether you are having a spring clean, or looking to sell your home, a fresh and organised bedroom will bring a sense of space and ease into your home.

But where should you start?

  1. Remind yourself of a positive why

Knowing why you want to declutter and organise your bedroom is going to be key to your success. The golden ticket is to make sure your “why” is positive and empowering.

Tell yourself “I am creating space in my home, to achieve a successful property sale” - “I am ready for a fresh start and attracting romance into my bedroom”.

2. Start with a list

Take 10 minutes before you start to look around your room in a clockwise motion and list each task that needs to be done.

3. Be specific

Rather than “Sort shoe corner” be specific with what you want to achieve.

For example - “Remove all winter shoes, and place in storage”  “Organise shoes into pairs” “Take running shoes to the garage”

4. Tackle one area at a time

Focus on one task, and tick it off the list before moving on to the next job.  This will help increase your productivity and reduce the dreaded procrastination.

5. Start with the easiest job first

Starting positively will give you great momentum to continue. Start with something quick and easy so that you can tick it off of your list with pride and move on to the next challenge.

6. Pull out, collect together and handle everything!

When it comes to your wardrobe, pull everything out and handle it all in one load. Be ruthless with the items that are no longer serving you. If it doesn’t fit or doesn’t fill you with joy - rehome it!

Keep only items that you know are going to make you feel your best this Spring.
