Lockdown is a great time to prepare and sell your home

Entering this January lockdown may feel unnerving, but there is good news. If you are thinking about putting your home on the market, now is a great time!  

The New Year lockdown gives homeowners an excellent opportunity to prepare their homes for sale, putting them in a winning position on the property market.  

According to the Home Staging Association’s 2020 report, 71% of UK property professionals agreed that homes that had been thoughtfully prepared and staged attracted a greater number of viewings, subsequently reducing their time on the market.

Jack Jowett, Managing Director of Hampshire based property specialist, Abshot Estates gave the following insight this January:

“It’s a great time to be on the market, because mortgages are very affordable, plus there’s talk of an extension to the stamp duty holiday”

Speaking to Little Barn Door, Jack advised that being listed in lockdown can give sellers the benefit of a captive audience. In fact, Rightmove reported its busiest ever day in the middle of spring lockdown 2020.
