Simple Staging Tips - Guidance, Gather, Repurpose
When people think of home staging, they often think of grand projects in grand properties…..with grand bills!
But, in most cases, transformational changes can be made to the appearance, appeal and sellability of a home with NO ADDITIONAL PURCHASES!
But, how CAN WE CREATE An impactful difference WITH THE SAME ITEMS?
By assessing and actioning your home staging in 3 simple steps, you can transform its appeal.
Step one - Guidance
Ask a friend or home staging professional to give you a truthful opinion on how your home will be perceived by a buyer. Find out more about how our FREE kickstart call can support you with this.
STEP TWO - Gather
Strip every room in your home of all accessories and excess furniture, temporarily placing it into one room or storage tubs. By removing everything, you have a completely clean slate and wealth of products available to use for the next step.
We use 40 litre flex tubs for storing accessories during the gather step.
STEP THREE - Repurpose
Have an open mind and reuse the items that you have gathered. By thinking about the placement of each item with your buyer in mind you will completely change the feel of your property.
Warning alert
This is hard. Having a completely open mind is the toughest part about staging your home, and can often lead to items being placed in the same setting as they were before.
Always remind yourself that you are preparing your house for someone else to buy. So keep them at the centre of your decisions. Your preferred room layout may not be appealing for your buyer.
“What if I find myself placing items back in the same place, and I can’t see another way?”
It may be time for a second opinion.
Home staging consultations are great for this. Within our Little Barn Door consultation service, we provide a full analysis of your target buyer and give you a clear step by step action plan for each change that you can make using your existing furniture & accessories to capture their attention.
Taking time to stage and prepare your property is powerful, and doesn't need to break the bank.
